Dexter Peggins, Steel Standing, LLC

Steel Standing LLC is a minority owned and operated small business formed in 2012. The CEO and Lead Instructor Dexter ‘Doc’ Peggins is a U.S Marine Corps and U.S Army veteran with over 23 years active service. He served in the U.S Army as a Combat Medic, Combat Casualty Care instructor and Class Advisor for advanced training of enlisted medical personnel. Mr.Peggins has worked overseas as a contractor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) training military personnel in patrol medic skills and also civilian medical personnel in the upgrade of their emergency medical services. Mr. Peggins has received extensive training in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and is a Tactical Medical Care instructor and also certified Heart Saver First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor with the American Heart Association (AHA). 

Mr. Peggins has over twenty (20) years’ experience in the areas of emergency management; preparedness and response. During his fifteen years employment at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Mr. Peggins worked in the areas of employee safety, incident response to facility and laboratory emergencies and the agency’s internal emergency management program. Mr. Peggins was one of the first members of CDC’s Global Rapid Response Team (GRRT); this team was trained and equipped to respond anywhere in the world to provide support during domestic and international public health emergencies. Mr. Peggins is currently employed as a contract training instructor with the Department of Homeland Security’s Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP). Mr. Peggins is a certified Emergency Manager (CEM) with the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) and also a certified Department of Homeland Security (DHS) training instructor.
